Energy Workshop and Feasibility Study
Dear Everyone,
Just a quick correction for the last newsletter: please email info [at] peckhampower [dot] org to register for the event or to get in touch (not info [at] peckhampower [dot] org [dot] uk!) Apologies!
Here's the corrected newsletter in full for those who didn't receive it last time:
Dear Everyone,
Firstly, we're holding another community workshop on Saturday 2 May at the Chronic Love Foundation on Rye Lane, arrivals and light refreshments at 1.30pm, workshop running from 2-5pm. This workshop is focused around the theme of energy use and sustainable energy supply, looking first at the national picture and then Southwark and Peckham. As before, there will be lots of opportunities to talk with other local people and share your ideas.
It's a collaborative event with the planning team for Southwark Council's Peckham Area Action Plan, so there will also be the opportunity to discuss how the big picture of energy use and supply fits in with the possibilities for the future development of sites in Peckham.
Please register for the event, or offer to help out, by e-mailing info [at] peckhampower [dot] org
Secondly, after various meetings we've decided to commission a feasibility study into the most effective energy solutions at small neighbourhood level. This is because this will be more effective than focusing bit by bit on individual houses. The feasibility study will include the Northfield Estate, Blenheim Grove and Waghorn Street - please let us know if you would like your street to be included!
Finally, we are planning a series of draft-proofing workshops to help residents to draft-proof their properties as cost-effectively as possible. We'll get in touch again when the first workshop is planned.
Looking forward to seeing you at the community energy workshop,
Best wishes,
Anna Plodowski, Jack Kelly, Gordon Nardell, Carl Reynolds, Matthew Rose and Lesley Wertheimer
