Community Council fund

Gordon very kindly sent us the details of the Nunhead and Peckham Rye Community Council fund (I've attached the details to this forum post).

  • The fund sounds perfect for funding "Draft Busting Saturdays" towards the end of 2009.
  • deadline is 15th may; decision is taken no later than July.  Can apply for up to £1000.
  • It is OK to spend the money on materials for the event
  • money must be spent before end of march 2010
  • team up with another community project

But Peckham Power needs to setup a constitution and bank account in order to apply (either that or we partner with an organisation which is already constituted).

Some questions for you all:

1) Do you agree that we should apply to the Community Council to fund the purchase of draft-proofing materials so that we can give draft-proofing materials away for free out our "Draft Busting Saturdays"?  (The Community Council money wouldn't come through until Summer so it would fund draft-proofing projects when the weather gets cold again in late 2009).

2) Are there any community organisations that we should team up with?  Perhaps we should talk to Southwark Irish Pensioners Project (who contacted is a few months ago about doing a joint project)
