Community Energy Workshop

Date:
Saturday, 2 May 2009 1:30pm - 5:00pm

we're holding another community workshop on Saturday 2 May at the Chronic Love Foundation on Rye Lane, arrivals and light refreshments at 1.30pm, workshop running from 2-5pm.  This workshop is focused around the theme of energy use and sustainable energy supply, looking first at the national picture and then Southwark and Peckham.  As before, there will be lots of opportunities to talk with other local people and share your ideas.

Location: Chronic Love Foundation (CLF) Art Cafe, 1/F Bussey Building, 133 Rye Lane, Peckham, SE15

Very rough schedule:

1:30-2:00 = Light refreshments

2:00-2:30 = Looking at current energy consumption

2:30-3:30 = Looking at sustainable generation options

It's a collaborative event with the planning team for Southwark Council's Peckham Area Action Plan, so there will also be the opportunity to discuss how the big picture of energy use and supply fits in with the possibilities for the future development of sites in Peckham.

This is a fun event for non-experts, to get people talking about:

Where - and how much - green energy we can get - nationally and locally
How much energy we use at the moment - nationally and locally
How do we get our possible green energy sources to meet all our uses?

And also to think about what green energy will mean for Peckham

This event is in collaboration with the Planning Team of Southwark Council, who are suggesting various possibilities for local green energy production in the Peckham Area Action Plan. Come and have your say on that too...
