About us

 Peckham Power wants:

• community-owned microgeneration for all in Peckham and Nunhead – and beyond
• everyone to be able to use energy efficiently, not waste it
• to help solve the energy problems people really have

In order to achieve this, Peckham Power:

• works with all local people and groups who express an interest doing so 
• provides practical advice and services to solve real energy problems
• promotes awareness of local renewables, energy efficiency and the energy “big picture”
• builds active support for local renewables

In order to get to being a community-owned microgreneration production company in Peckham, we need to do all of these activities, especially:

• simultaneously, and as and whenever we can
• grabbing opportunities that look good to us and don’t conflict with our aims!
• trying new things and learn from the experience…

Which is why our activities may look a bit disorganised.  We demonstrate not so much “method in the madness” as determined purpose in the complex chaos of our daily lives

Peckham Power is run by and for local residents in Peckham and Nunhead. We exist to help people - no matter what their income - to generate and to use energy sustainably. We also aim to provide advice and skills to people who want to install, maintain and develop local energy generation and efficiency measures. Anyone can join the company, as we want to run it as a cooperative enterprise. We need you! Everyone is invited to join the Peckham Power Company! For example, perhaps the engineering issues fascinate you. Or perhaps you're interested in how people work together. Or maybe your specialities are business and finance. Or maybe you're just enthusiastic to help! There are countless opportunities for making Peckham and Nunhead more sustainable: let's get to work! We're in this together!
